  Reiki is a Japanese technique for stress reduction and relaxation that also promotes healing. It was developed by Dr. Mikao Usui who lived in Japan during the nineteenth century.

 Reiki means Universal Life Force Energy. It is a simple and powerful hands on healing technique that creates balance and harmony within the mind, body, and spirit.

 Reiki's peaceful and simple, hands-on healing intelligence transcends cultures and religious boundaries and can help you to heal physical and spiritual wounds, and release your potential for happiness.

  Reiki can work in dramatic or very subtle ways so the changes we undergo and the benefits we receive can be immediate or may take time to become apparent. Other people can notice these changes before we do, as it is not always easy to see our own mind, because we are so used to looking out rather than within.

How Does Reiki Heal

  Universal Life Force Energy flows within the physical body through pathways called chakras and meridians. The chakras are energy centers in the body that influence all of our organs, the skeleton, and the hormonal, digestive, circulatory, and nervous systems. The meridians are pathways that subtle energy flows through within the physical body. Universal Life Force Energy also flows around the physical body in a field of energy called the aura.

  The free flow and the balanced energy create health. Energy nourishes the organs and cells of the body, supporting them in their vital functions. When the circulation of energy is disrupted, it affects our physical and psychological state.

   Energy responds to our thoughts and feelings. When we have positive thoughts, we increase the flow of energy and when we have negative thoughts, our energy is depleted and we don’t feel good. These negative thoughts and feelings accepted by us either consciously or unconsciously can become lodged in the subconscious mind and they can create disruption of energy. These negative thoughts and feelings attach themselves to the energy field and disrupt the circulation of energy and create blockages in the energy flow. Blockages prevent the energy flow to the organs and cells and eventually creating illness. These blockages can be removed and weak chakras can be infused with energy in Energy Healing sessions.

  When a person receives a Reiki treatment, the healing energy is directed to where the person has blocks. The Reiki energy works with the negative thoughts and feelings that are blocking one’s natural flow of energy. The Reiki flows through the affected parts of the energy field and energizes them with positive energy. Reiki raises the vibratory level in and around the physical body. This causes the negative energy to break apart and fall away. Reiki clears, and heals the energy pathways, thus allowing healthy energy flow. Once energy is flowing naturally, the physical organs and tissues are then able to complete their healing process.
